Whether you are replacing an old staircase, creating a new stylish focal point in your home, extending your property or building a new home, staircases are a major consideration as they not only act as a core function to move between floors, but can often be the first thing visitors see when they enter your home.
When planning a new timber staircase for your home you need to consider the following issues:
- What budget do you have for the new staircase? This will impact on the type of wood used, the finish, the amount of details in the woodwork and any extras, i.e lighting or under stairs cupboards.

All stairs must meet building regulations, so although we can build bespoke staircases we must always adhere to building regulations when designing your new stairs.
Timber Staircases Made to Measure and Fitted to Your Budget and Specifications
Your budget will determine the type of wood used for your new staircase. An oak staircase will create an impressive focal point but may stretch your budget a little. Other timber choices include; Yellow Pine, Ash, Iroko & Walnut. If you are on a tight budget we would recommend a standard carpeted staircase using softwood strings with mdf treads and risers.
