Traditional Timber Windows
Barrow Central Joiners makes bespoke timber windows in our joinery workshop in Barrow in Furness. We normally make windows in a softwood or a innovative new timber Accoya which is a lightweight timber with all the properties of a heavier, dense hardwood. Our Accoya windows are generally finished by painting, meaning you get a choice of colours to suit your property and they require minimal maintenance, often ensuring that they are more durable and will outlast standard UPVC windows. We can also use Oak, Iroko and Sapele to create a prestige window that can be finished with a stain for a traditional wooden window look.

Windows for Listed Buildings or Properties in Conservation Areas
Our sliding sash timber windows can be constructed using a traditional weighted and pulley option or fitted on spiral balances and are made to meet the requirements of new environmental rules whilst retaining the same visual aspect of old draughty sashes in conservation areas or on listed buildings.
Other styles that are made in our Barrow in Furness workshop include; mock sash windows, traditional casement window and ‘A’ grade storm proof windows with multi-point locking systems sometimes required by insurance companies. All our windows offer energy efficiency, improved security and adhere to the rules requiring a means of escape in all habitable upstairs rooms. Please be aware that these factors can sometimes impact on the design of a replacement window, so we can’t always make something identical to an existing window.
